We're looking for a hands-on, organised and proactive Stores Controller to take responsibility for the efficient receipt, storage, control and distribution of parts and equipment.
Working closely with the aftersales, workshop and service teams, you'll play an important role in ensuring stock is accurately maintained, orders are fulfilled efficiently and parts are available when needed to keep operations running smoothly.
This is a great opportunity to join an established business with a genuinely positive working culture, excellent staff retention and a team-oriented approach.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
*
Receiving, checking and accurately booking deliveries into stock against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
*
Maintaining an organised and efficient stores environment, ensuring stock is safely stored and easily accessible.
*
Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders, workshop requirements and internal orders.
*
Maintaining accurate stock records, carrying out regular stock checks, cycle counts and audits.
*
Investigating stock discrepancies and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
*
Processing parts, warranty and supplier returns, ensuring all associated administration is completed accurately.
*
Maintaining stock movements, goods receipts, inventory adjustments and order processing within SAP.
*
Supporting workshop and service teams by ensuring parts are available when required.
About You
You'll ideally have:
*
Previous experience working within a warehouse or stores environment, ideally within automotive, machinery, engineering or an industrial setting.
*
A valid forklift truck licence.
*
Good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
*
A customer-focused approach and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
*
The ability to work independently, manage your workload and use your own initiative.
*
A flexible, practical and hands-on approach.
*
The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Above all, we're looking for someone reliable, hardworking and proactive who takes pride in getting things right and enjoys being part of a team.
Working Hours
*
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
*
Core working hours between 7.30am and 5.00pm.
*
Some flexibility may occasionally be required to support business needs.
The Benefits
There's a particularly strong benefits package on offer, including:
*
Annual leave: 24 days' holiday plus 8 bank holidays, increasing by one additional day after 2, 5, 10 and 20 years of service, up to a maximum of 28 days.
*
Pension: 4% employer pension contribution.
*
Annual pay reviews: Yearly salary reviews.
*
Health and wellbeing: Health scheme, eye care scheme and access to HealthShield's mental health and wellbeing programme.
*
Life assurance: Cover of up to three times annual salary.
*
Christmas break: Reduced working hours between Christmas and New Year.
*
Employee recognition: Quarterly employee awards.
*
Employee referral scheme: £2,600 reward for introducing a successful new employee.
The Working Environment
You'll be joining a friendly and supportive business that genuinely values its people.
There is an open and approachable management style, with good communication channels and a culture where employees are encouraged to share ideas, raise suggestions and have their voices heard.
Staff retention is particularly strong, reflecting a positive working environment where people enjoy what they do and feel part of the team.
