Are you an organised Service Controller or Service Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you enjoy juggling priorities, solving problems and ensuring customers receive outstanding service?
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business that supplies and supports specialist equipment across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a proactive Service Controller to become a key member of their customer support team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable organisation where no two days are the same and where you'll play a vital role in coordinating engineers, supporting customers and ensuring service operations run smoothly.
The Role
As Service Controller, you'll be the central point of contact between customers, field engineers and internal departments. You'll be responsible for planning engineer workloads, coordinating service activity and ensuring customers receive timely updates throughout the repair and maintenance process.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and schedule field engineers to maximise efficiency and customer satisfaction.
* Manage incoming service requests via telephone and email.
* Prioritise breakdowns and maintenance calls in line with customer commitments.
* Liaise with customers regarding service updates and technical enquiries.
* Coordinate parts availability and ensure engineers have the correct equipment for each job.
* Monitor outstanding service jobs and proactively resolve delays.
* Raise quotations and invoices accurately and within agreed timescales.
* Maintain accurate service records and administrative documentation.
* Support continuous improvement across the service function.
About You
You'll be highly organised, enjoy working in a busy environment and have excellent communication skills.
You'll ideally have:
* Previous experience within a Service Controller, Service Coordinator or Engineering Scheduler position.
* Experience planning engineers or coordinating field service activity.
* Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
* Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
* Good IT skills, with experience using ERP or service management systems advantageous.
* The ability to remain calm under pressure whilst managing multiple priorities.
What's on Offer?
* Join a successful and growing engineering business.
* Varied and fast-paced role with genuine responsibility.
* Supportive team environment.
* Long-term career development opportunities.
* Competitive salary and benefits package.
If you're an organised service professional who enjoys coordinating people, solving problems and delivering excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
