We're recruiting on behalf of our NHS client for experienced, ACC accredited Clinical Coders to join their team on a temporary basis with an immediate start. In this role, you'll play a vital part in translating complex clinical information into accurate national codes, directly supporting patient data quality, national reporting, and Trust funding through the NHS Payment Scheme.
If you're a confident, detail-driven coder who takes pride in accuracy and consistency, your work will have a real and measurable impact on how the Trust is resourced and how patient care is reported.
What you'll be doing:
* Accurately translating complex clinical information from patient records into ICD-10 and OPCS-4 codes, in line with National Clinical Coding Standards
* Extracting and analysing detailed clinical information from case notes, exercising sound judgement where documentation is unclear or requires clarification
* Ensuring coded data is submitted accurately and within required deadlines
* Supporting accurate HRG allocation to inform the Trust's income through the NHS Payment Scheme
* Liaising professionally with clinicians and colleagues to resolve coding queries
* Managing your own caseload independently, prioritising effectively to meet deadlines
* Maintaining ACC accreditation through ongoing professional development
* Handling patient information in line with data protection and confidentiality standards
What we're looking for:
* ACC accredited (National Clinical Coding Qualification) - essential
* Proven experience as a Clinical Coder within an NHS Trust setting
* Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications and coding standards
* Good understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
* Confident using hospital patient administration systems (PAS) and Microsoft Office
* Ability to work independently, manage a busy caseload, and meet deadlines
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fully remote, flexible role with an NHS Trust, ideal for an experienced, ACC accredited coder available immediately and looking to make a genuine impact on patient data and Trust performance.
