We are recruiting for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Officer to join an established and growing organisation operating within a highly regulated, project-led environment.
This is a varied role for a proactive Health, Safety & Environmental professional who enjoys working closely with operational and site teams to promote a positive safety culture, manage risk and drive continuous improvement.
Title: Health, Safety and Environmental Officer
Location: Remote working role, with occasional travel to Reading & Manchester offices
Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 DOE, plus car allowance & benefits
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of HS&E policies, procedures and management systems
* Monitor compliance, identify risks and support corrective actions
* Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses
* Conduct site inspections and audits
* Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems, including audits
* Assist with SSIP/PQQ submissions and compliance documentation
* Develop and deliver HS&E communications and support training initiatives
* Maintain risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work and other documentation
* Produce reports, maintain accurate records and analyse HS&E performance
* Provide practical guidance and support to operational teams, clients and subcontractors
Skills and Experience:
* At least three years' experience in a construction/CDM health and safety environment
* Strong knowledge of UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
* Experience in incident investigation and risk management
* Experience supporting ISO management systems and SSIP/PQQ submissions
* Good IT skills and experience with digital management systems
* A full UK driving license
