Finance Assistant
Central Hertford
£32,000 - £35,000
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (1 hour lunch)
Our client are seeking a Finance Assistant to join it's team in Hertford. This is a varied role offering exposure across finance, payroll, VAT and administration. Alongside full training, you will be offered long term opportunities for career development, plus a modern office in a great location.
You will be responsible for:
* Managing new customer accounts, pro-forma invoices and project invoicing.
* Handling customer account queries and supporting sales ledger activities.
* Assisting with quarterly and overseas VAT administration.
* Maintaining digital finance records and managing petty cash.
* Processing employee expenses, including credit card and mileage claims.
* Supporting the implementation of an expenses management system.
* Assisting with National Statistics returns and general finance administration.
* Setting up new starters and processing monthly payroll using Sage 50.
* Managing pension contributions, enrolments and employee queries.
* Maintaining accurate and confidential payroll and pension records.
Candidate requirements:
* Ideally you will be working towards AAT, although full training is provided
* Confident using Sage 50 Accounts and Microsoft Excel
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Good communication skills and able to manage a varied workload
* Comfortable working as part of a small, supportive team
