Your guide to timesheets and holidays as a Huntress temporary worker

21 Aug 2023 By Huntress

At Huntress, we understand that temporary placements can come with their own set of questions and uncertainties. That's why we've created a streamlined process to make sure you can focus on your work without any hassle. In this article, we'll address some of the frequently asked questions about timesheets and holidays, providing you with the information you need to make the most out of your temporary assignment with us.

Timesheet FAQ's

Where can I find my timesheet?

Locating your timesheet is easy! Simply log into our user-friendly online portal. We'll provide you with the link as part of your onboarding process, along with any other compliance forms your dedicated consultant guides you through.

What if I lose the link?

Don’t panic! If you can’t track down the timesheet link, just get in touch with your dedicated consultant. They'll be more than happy to resend the link, ensuring you have everything you need to stay on track.

What information needs to be logged on the timesheet?

Our timesheet format is designed for clarity and simplicity. You'll need to fill in the following boxes:

    Start Time

    End Time

Lunch - To enter your lunch break duration, follow these guidelines:

    1 hour: Log as '1'

    Half hour: Log as '0.5'

    15 minutes: Log as '0.25'

Standard Hours - This is your total work hours for the day, minus your lunch break. Simply copy the 'Hours Worked' number and paste it into this box.

Once you've completed these fields, hit the 'save and submit' button in the top right corner. Your timesheet will then be sent to your line manager for approval.

When does my timesheet need to be completed and approved?

Your timesheet should be submitted and approved by 12:00 pm every Tuesday (but its good practice to get it submitted where possible by end of the day on Friday). If you happen to miss the Tuesday deadline, don’t panic! It will roll over to the following week's pay run.

Holiday FAQ's

Do I accrue holiday as a temporary worker?

Absolutely! For every week you work, you'll accrue the standard holiday allowance of 0.5 days. If there are any changes or variations, your consultant will keep you informed. Rest assured; you'll continue to accrue holiday until your temporary assignment is completed.  Holiday pay isn’t a cash benefit, so to release the holiday pay you have accrued, you will need to take time off.

How do I request time off?

Requesting time off is a straightforward process. Once you have got approval from your line manager that its ok to take the time off, email your consultant with the dates you will be off, and when the holiday time comes around, they'll take care of the processing the holiday pay you have accrued.

Do I need to submit a timesheet for annual leave?

Holiday pay requests don’t go on your timesheet, as they are a separate request (see above).

If you're taking a full working week off, you won't need to complete a timesheet for that week.

If your time off is only for a few days, you'll need to fill in the timesheet only for the days you worked during that week.

How can I check my holiday balance?

To keep tabs on your holiday balance, log in to your online portal and click on 'timesheets.' At the top of the page, you'll find a clear breakdown of your total accrued holiday, the holiday you've taken, and the remaining holiday you have left to book.
