Find out how we register candidates at Huntress
Finding a new job can be tough, especially when you’re looking by yourself and trying to assess whether an advert you see on a job board is right for you. It’s for that reason many people search for work using recruitment agencies. Often, recruitment agencies have exclusive access to fantastic vacancies which you wouldn’t know about without communicating with them. They are also there to advise employers on why they should offer this job to you, including negotiating the runumeration and benefits package you deserve.
At Huntress, unlike most high-street agencies, we believe in a personal approach for both the employers and the job seekers we work with - that’s why we always register all our candidates in person or over a video call, because we think it’s important to get to know the real you and make sure we understand what you’re looking for.
We’ve compiled a list of some of our most frequently asked questions to guide you through registering with Huntress. We look forward to meeting you soon!
Why do you ask job seekers to register with you?
The registration process gives us a chance to get to know you and find out what you’re looking for in your next position. The roles you have identified might look right for you on paper, but with the information you tell us about your aspirations and preferences, we might find that the company might not be quite what you’re looking for. It’s always best to know these things beforehand and the registration process will also give us an opportunity to gather additonal information outside of what is on your CV, so that we can pro-actively search for roles on your behalf.
Our registration process allows us also offer advice on your CV and interview tips and tricks.
How long does the registration take?
Registering with us can take around 45 minutes to an hour dependant on the length of your CV and how many active roles we have that you may be interested in. The more we can find out about you, your experience, and your expectations, the more likely we are to be able to find you a job you love!
We may also ask you to complete some computer-based skills tests, dependant on the role you are looking for. These can either be done at our offices or from home.
What should I wear when I meet you?
As a rule, we would expect you to wear smart business attire if you come to visit us in the office, as though you are presenting yourself for an interview. This is the same for a virtual interview. An exception to this would be if you currently work in a very relaxed environment and in this instance, smart casual would be okay.
Does the way a job seeker interacts with us influence whether he or she is put forward for a role?
As an agency, we need to have confidence in you and ensure you would be the right for our clients. Job seekers who bring notes with questions always impress us, and references from past employers always help us get a picture of what you are like in a working environment.
The market is extremely competitive and there are a lot of skilled people out there all aiming for the same job. Therefore, it’s important to set yourself apart and sell yourself as much as you can. If we believe in you and think you are great candidate, then we will be able to go that extra mile to secure you that dream job!
What do I need to bring/present when I register with you?
We require you to provide proof of your right to work in the UK, so your passport or National Insurance and full birth certificate or ID card. It is also advised to bring details of who your references would be.
If you are from outside of the EU please bring your visa, your passport, and an NI number.
Does everyone need to take numeracy, spelling and IT tests?
We may ask you to complete a test that is relevant for the roles you are applying for, if required by the employer. The test will allow us to substantiate your CV and we may also send your scores to porential employers to show off your skills
We will always make sure you are advised whether you are required to take a test and that you are fully prepped ahead of this.
