Gary Laurence
Chairman/CEO
Co-founded Huntress Search in 2000 after setting up growing and successfully selling several highly profitable businesses. Gary started out at Selected Accounts Personnel. After becoming a recognised brand the company was quickly attracting acquisitive suitors. As a main board director, Gary was involved in making many acquisitions, one of which was David Chorley Associates, the name that became the umbrella brand. Gary obtained invaluable exposure to 'The City' and the workings of a public company while ACSIS made 26 acquisitions in 18 months.
Within three years the group had achieved substantial growth and profitability and was successfully sold to the US multi-billion dollar Fluor Corporation in October 1995. Gary headed the European operation and soon won the accolade as most profitable company in their recruitment arm.
After leaving Fluor Corporation he became involved in a virtual online exhibition company and was instrumental in its successful, oversubscribed flotation on AIM. Following this, Gary moved on to the next and current venture, Huntress. In November 2007, Gary successfully led the MBO of Graphite Capital, with the backing of the private equity arm of Nomura International, the Japanese-owned £24bn international banking conglomerate.
